Who we are
Row Brainer is made by JCK XYZ LTD ("we", "us"). We're responsible for the personal data described in this policy. You can reach us any time at hello@rowbrainer.com.
The camera
Row Brainer uses your device's front camera to work out which way you're tilting your head, so you can steer without touching the screen. The camera feed is processed in real time, on your device only.
- Video and images are never recorded, saved or uploaded.
- Nothing from the camera is sent to us or to anyone else.
- It detects the position and angle of your face to measure tilt. It doesn't recognise or identify who you are.
- You can turn camera access off in your device settings at any time.
Bluetooth and your rower
The app connects to your rowing machine's monitor (for example the Concept2 PM5) over Bluetooth to read workout data such as power, pace, stroke rate and distance. This is used to move your boat and show your results. Bluetooth is only used to talk to your rower.
The waitlist
If you join the waitlist on this website, we store your email address, the rower you told us you use (if any) and the date you signed up. We use this only to tell you when Row Brainer is available and, occasionally, to ask for feedback on early versions. We don't sell it or share it for marketing.
Every email we send has an unsubscribe link, or you can email us and we'll remove you.
Game data
The app keeps your settings and workout history on your device. If we add features that need an account or an online service (such as comparing daily course results with friends), we'll update this policy before they launch and explain exactly what's shared and why.
Where data is stored
This website and the waitlist are hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes data on our behalf to serve the site and store waitlist signups. We don't use advertising trackers on this site.
How long we keep it
We keep waitlist emails until the app launches and our launch emails have gone out, or until you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to how we use it. Email hello@rowbrainer.com and we'll respond promptly. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
The waitlist isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. For significant changes we'll let waitlist members know by email.
